This early in the recruiting process LSU Coach Les Miles is not just assembling a big class for 2010, he has proven that the LSU program is a threat on the national stage.

With 21 commits, and 11 of them current members of the ESPNU 150 watch list, Les Miles has most of his work done for this coming February. That’s 6 months away.

"I am impressed with LSU being able to not only continue its dominance in state and be a major player in Texas, but to go out of state and land Blue Chippers." ESPN National Recruiting Analyst JC Shurburtt said. "Going to Ohio to get Spencer Ware and getting Justin Hunter from Virginia shows the reach of the program."

"LSU is a program with a great built in advantage in the in-state talent base. But when you really look at it, their recruiting footprint has really expanded." Shurburtt added.

And that expansion has led to this LSU class luring talent from all over the map. LSU has commitments from Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia, Ohio and Tennessee.

And with 11 members of the ESPNU 150 watch list LSU’s class is full of impact players. Those players are-

Nick Jacobs TE 6-5 240 Many H.S. (LA)

Justin Hunter WR 6-4 172 Ocean Lakes H.S. (VA)

Mike Davis WR 6-0 176 Skyline H.S. (TX)

Eric Reid S 6-2 180 Dutchtown H.S. (LA)

Justin Maclin OLB 6-3 220 Ridgeway H.S. (TN)

Tharold Simon S 6-4 185 Eunice H.S. (LA)

Zach Lee QB 6-3 190 McKinney H.S. (TX)

Spencer Ware RB 5-11 225 Princeton H.S. (OH)

Jordan Allen DE 6-6 245 West Monroe H.S. (LA)

Ronnie Vinson S 5-11 190 Isidore Newman School (LA)

Evan Washington OT 6-6 286 DeSoto H.S. (TX)

LSU currently has three commitments who will play in the Under Armour All-American Game in January. Justin Hunter, Mike Davis and Evan Washington have already been named to the game in Orlando.

And with players such as Jeff Luc, Jackson Jeffcoat, Chris McCain, Joshua Shaw, Lache Seastrunk, Trovon Reed, Storm Johnson and Travis Dickson still available LSU could end up again with the top class in the nation.
