With the word leaking of his commitment to LSU over the weekend there was not much suspense around Jeremy Hill’s commitment. That’s okay with the ESPN 150 Watch List Running Back from Redemptorist High (Baton Rouge, LA) he just wants to be a Tiger.
“I was able to take this weekend and make sure everything was right. I knew how I wanted to tell Coach Miles. And I was able to go over there and see him and tell him,” Hill said, “He was really excited about it.“
“It’s something I always wanted to do, to be a Tiger. I’m so happy it’s official.”
Hill was able to speak with LSU coach Les Miles, and the head man was excited for the news.
“It was a brief conversation. We talked for a few minutes and he told me they would be committed to me if I would commit to them. It felt good to tell them I was committed to them.”
Hill was at LSU along with his teammate Lael Collins, another ESPN 150 Watch List player, who also gave his pledge to Miles.
“Lael and I came over here together, we kinda always had LSU as our top school and didn’t really talk about doing it together until recently. We knew we were both thinking hard about LSU and we decided it would be great for us to do it together.”
The hometown talent felt the best for them was to stay at home.
“It’s a great opportunity. LSU is the perfect place. Everything we want is right here, and it’s out home.
Hill is now focusing on helping the Tigers continue to get talent on the roster, both for the 2010 and 2011 classes.
“Now that we are on board we want to help fill out the class, and work on our class. We can really help the class. We are losing Charles Scott, Keiland Williams, Trindon Holliday and Richard Murphy so I want to help us get Lache Seastrunk and Kenny Hilliard to go along with Michael Ford and rebuild the depth at LSU.”
Hill isn’t concerned with competition, he is focus on something else.
“I want to work for my opportunity. The competition will help our program, it’ll make us all better. I want to win.”
