Sophomore Running Back Kenny Hilliard on Auburn: “We know what those guys are capable of doing. They’re pretty good. Every SEC team is good. We just have to come out and prepare our mindset to do great.”

Hilliard on Auburn’s struggles: “They can bounce back. They can learn from their mistakes. They are going to come out and play real hard because it’s their stadium. It’s going to be a battle.

Junior Defensive Tackle Bennie Logan on Auburn’s QB Kiehl Frazier: “Their quarterback is a duel threat. You can’t let him get in a rhythm passing the ball because once he gets in a rhythm, he becomes a dangerous threat to us. You want to keep him settled in the pocket. You have to stay in your lanes. You don‘t want to give him any kind of open window where he can see. Coach always tells us to make sure we don‘t rush past the quarterback”

Sophomore Defensive Tackle Anthony Johnson on Frazier: “We just have to stay in our gaps and play our techniques. If you get pressure on him, he gets happy feet. He makes inaccurate throws. If we push the pocket, he’s going to have a long day.”

Logan on Auburn RB Onterrio McCalebb: “No. 23 is a very shifty, fast back. The thing about him is that everybody has to get to the ball and put a hat on him early in the game to keep him calmed down.”

Sophomore WR Jarvis Landry on Auburn: “It’s all about us. It doesn’t matter what they do. We just focus on the things that we do well, and we continue to do those things. If we get better at them, we can’t be stopped.”

Landry on watching Auburn film: “They are like any SEC team. They want to load the box, bring the safeties down and try to stop the run. I think those are things we are going to try to expose them on. The need for a passing game is always there, especially in this conference. We’re going to be effective on the ground and in the air.”

Junior QB Zach Mettenberger on pregame jitters for his first SEC/Road start: “We’ll see when it gets here. Going into the fourth game, yeah I’ll be a little nervous, but I’ve already played some college football so I’ll be okay. I‘m not going to focus on that crazy environment. It‘s going to be loud, but we practice that, even for home games.”

Mettenberger on Auburn Defensive Coordinator Brian Van Gorder: “I know their defensive coordinator. I’ve known him since I was 10 years old. Coach Van Gorder and Coach (Willie) Martinez, I grew up with both of their kids. So I know a lot of the stuff they run.”

Mettenberger on the loss of starting RB Alfred Blue and what that takes away from the LSU offense: “I don’t think anything. You’ve seen the past two years here that we just rotate guys in and out. At LSU, it’s all about who is going to make a big play. It really hurts to have Blue out, but it’s all about who is going to step up and replace him.”
